It finally happened, the online sensation from a couple of years ago has reached book form. I read this story in its online serialized form, and even then, I thought it was ready for publication. But if you read it then, don’t worry, Ms. Frater has some surprises up her sleeve, it’s still the the most amazing zombie novel you will ever read.
But just calling it a zombie novel does not do it justice, it is an epic story, dealing with love, death, relationships, and redemption…and zombies of course. You will fall in love with many of the characters, and tear up when, as happens in zombie novels, some of them die. You will cheer on the characters in the fort, as they make their last stand against the zombie hordes, and you will hiss at the bad guys, as they try to take what they want for themselves.
Even if you are not a fan of zombie stories, you will love this one, I had a friend of mine at work, that had never even read a horror novel, much less a zombie novel, read this story, and she was floored. She absolutely fell in love with the characters, and actually cried right there at work when her favorite one died.
I don’t want to spoil anything, it is best read going in cold, so that you can discover the wonder and excitement of this book for yourself. Do yourself a favor, order it today, you will be glad you did, and you will be on pins and needles waiting for the second installment in the trilogy.
