Feral Intensity
Shadow Connor is a federal bounty hunter, whose relatively lowkey life is turned upside down after a big capture makes her a media sensation. Dubbed `the Huntress? by the press in part to her being a Feral, Shadow discovers celebrity brings its own dangers and rewards as she hunts down the Dallas pack leader, who’s gone berserk, and meets James Wolfe, a fellow Wolven and bounty hunter.
Three years later…
Even on a good day, being non-human can be a little on the tough side.
This wasn’t a good day.
“Ouch, goddammit!” I hollered as I hit the brick wall with a thud for the second time, re-scraping my back up through my thin t-shirt. I landed on all fours, hair hanging down in my face. Swiping it out of the way and pushing to my feet, I took a look at was happening.
The berserk Feral, a two hundred pound mass of muscled, pissed cat, was flailing wildly with his left arm. That was the one that kept flinging me into the wall. The other was a little restricted by the half-nelson my partner, Jase, was struggling to maintain, a faint grin on his face and a pair of cuffs in his free hand. The two cops who’d stopped had their guns drawn and worried looks on their faces, ready to start shooting if the Feral broke loose. That would be a bad thing, because they wanted this one alive.
“Whenever your break’s over, Shady,” Jase called out, his blonde hair mussed and sweaty. “I don’t have all day.”
